The APPLETON RB-331 is a reducing bushing used to transition conduit trade sizes within electrical raceway systems. It steps down a 2-inch opening to a 1-1/2-inch fitting or conduit connection, allowing installers to adapt box knockouts, enclosures, or conduit bodies without replacing larger fittings. This type of reducing bushing is a standard component in commercial and industrial electrical installations and is typically installed by licensed electricians during conduit rough-in or panel termination work.
The RB-331 is suited for use in electrical enclosures, junction boxes, conduit bodies, and similar metallic raceway applications where a trade-size reduction from 2 inches to 1-1/2 inches is required. It fits standard knockout openings and pairs with rigid metal conduit, intermediate metal conduit, and related fittings in that size range.
Designed as an OEM-style reducing bushing for 2-inch to 1-1/2-inch trade-size transitions in standard metallic electrical enclosures and conduit raceway systems.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC requirements for conduit fittings and raceway assemblies. De-energize all circuits and verify the enclosure is properly locked out before opening any electrical box or panel. The bushing is threaded or pressed into the knockout opening by hand or with an appropriate fitting wrench. Ensure the bushing is fully seated and secure before pulling wire or making terminations.
