The APPLETON CPU20-75 is a round, explosionproof conduit outlet box designed for use in hazardous electrical environments where conduit systems require junction, pulling, or directional change points. Built from zinc electroplated, dichromate, and epoxy powder coated malleable iron, the CPU20-75 offers high tensile strength, ductility, and strong resistance to corrosion, impact, and shock. It provides 24 cubic inches of interior capacity, features four external 3/4 inch hubs located on the sides, and ships with a blank cover and four 3/4 to 1/2 inch reducers. The box is listed under UL 886 and carries an enclosure rating for Class I Division 1 and 2 Group C and D, Class II Division 1 and 2 Group E, F, and G, and Class III locations. Licensed electricians perform this installation.
The CPU20-75 is suited for industrial and commercial facilities where hazardous location wiring is required, including petrochemical plants, grain handling facilities, paint spray areas, and similar environments. Typical applications include general purpose wiring runs, pulling conductors, connecting conduit lengths, changing direction of conduit runs, and providing maintenance access points. The included blank cover can also serve as a mounting outlet for lighting fixtures when used with an appropriate hub cover. Its accurately tapped, tapered hub threads ensure tight, rigid joints and reliable ground continuity throughout the conduit system.
Listed under UL 886 for use in Class I Division 1 and 2 Group C and D, Class II Division 1 and 2 Group E, F, and G, and Class III hazardous locations. Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct installation fitting within 3/4 inch conduit systems requiring an explosionproof outlet box.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements for hazardous location wiring, specifically Articles 500 through 516. De-energize and lock out the circuit before opening or servicing the box. Verify that all conduit entries are fully threaded and seated to maintain the explosionproof integrity of the enclosure. Do not use this box in locations with hazardous group classifications outside those listed on the UL 886 label.
