The APPLETON BU-350 is a threaded female conduit bushing designed to terminate 3-1/2 inch trade size rigid metal conduit or IMC to a box or enclosure. Constructed from zinc electroplated malleable iron, it provides a smooth, non-insulated throat surface that protects cable insulation during pull-through. The bushing is installed in conjunction with a locknut to secure the conduit termination and maintain a clean, code-compliant connection point. Licensed electricians and commercial-industrial wiremen install this fitting as a standard termination component in conduit raceway systems.
The BU-350 is suited for commercial and industrial applications where 3-1/2 inch rigid metal conduit or IMC enters an enclosure, panelboard, junction box, or other electrical housing. Its non-insulated throat is appropriate for installations where a separate grounding bushing or locknut provides the required ground continuity. The fitting measures 4.44 inches in diameter and 0.94 inches in height, and conforms to NEMA FB-1 dimensional standards.
Designed for use with 3-1/2 inch trade size rigid metal conduit and IMC. Used with a locknut to terminate conduit to a box or enclosure.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC). De-energize and lock out the circuit before working inside any enclosure. Thread the bushing onto the conduit end and tighten with a strap wrench or suitable conduit tool, then secure with a locknut on the inside of the enclosure. Do not substitute this non-insulated bushing where a grounding or insulated throat bushing is required by code.
