The APPLETON AB-150 is an insulated aluminum conduit bushing designed to protect wire insulation at the end of threaded rigid metal conduit entries. The bushing threads onto the end of a conduit nipple or fitting to provide a smooth, non-abrasive surface where conductors pass through. Sized for 1-1/2-inch conduit trade size, this bushing is a standard component in commercial and industrial electrical installations. Electricians install it wherever rigid or IMC conduit terminates into an enclosure, panel, or junction box to meet NEC conductor protection requirements. The aluminum construction keeps weight low while providing corrosion resistance in typical indoor and light outdoor environments.
The AB-150 is suited for use in commercial buildings, industrial facilities, and utility installations where 1-1/2-inch rigid metal conduit or intermediate metal conduit terminates at electrical enclosures, panelboards, or pull boxes. It is a common item in rough-in electrical work and is installed by licensed electricians during conduit termination and conductor pull operations.
Designed as an OEM-style fitting for 1-1/2-inch trade size threaded rigid metal conduit and intermediate metal conduit terminations in standard electrical enclosures and panelboards.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician. De-energize the circuit and verify absence of voltage before working inside any enclosure. Thread the bushing hand-tight onto the conduit end before pulling conductors to avoid insulation damage. Refer to NEC Article 300 and the applicable local electrical code for conductor protection and conduit termination requirements.
