The APPLETON 6200US is a compression-type EMT conduit coupling designed to join two sections of electrical metallic tubing in commercial wiring installations. Constructed with a zinc plated steel body and nut, it provides a secure mechanical and electrical bond between conduit sections, maintaining continuity of the grounding path throughout the raceway system. The coupling carries a concrete and raintight constructional rating, making it suitable for exposed and embedded applications where moisture resistance is required. It meets UL 514B, CUL, and CSA C22.2 approval standards and complies with NEMA FB-1, giving electricians the documentation needed for inspections.
This coupling is rated for 2-inch trade size EMT conduit and is intended for commercial electrical installations. The compression design eliminates the need for set-screws, providing a uniform clamping force around the conduit that resists pull-out and vibration. Its concrete and raintight rating makes it appropriate for use in wet locations, poured concrete, and other demanding environments commonly encountered in commercial construction and industrial retrofit work. It is sold individually and is part of the 6000US series.
Designed for use on 2-inch trade size EMT conduit in commercial electrical raceway systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize all circuits in the affected raceway before beginning conduit work. Ensure conduit ends are clean, deburred, and fully seated before tightening the compression nut to achieve a proper raintight seal. Do not overtighten, as this can deform the conduit or fitting body.
