The APOLLO VALVES 670750905674 is a carbon steel wye strainer designed to protect piping systems and process equipment from unwanted debris and foreign particles with minimal pressure drop. The large-area 20-mesh screen intercepts particulate before it reaches sensitive downstream components such as valves, pumps, and meters. The screen cover is NPT tapped to accept a customer-supplied plug or blow-off valve, making inline cleaning and maintenance straightforward. This strainer is rated for a 1/2 inch connection and uses a solder-end configuration for copper pipe installation in residential and light commercial plumbing and hydronic systems.
This wye strainer is suited for residential and commercial plumbing, hydronic heating, and process piping applications where protecting downstream equipment is a priority. The 1/2 inch solder-end connections make it a direct fit for copper tube systems. It is typically installed by licensed plumbers and pipefitters in supply lines ahead of control valves, zone valves, or other inline equipment that can be damaged by scale, solder debris, or sediment. The 20-mesh screen provides reliable filtration without creating excessive pressure loss across the strainer body.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation wye strainer for 1/2 inch copper pipe systems in residential and commercial plumbing and hydronic heating applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the IPC. Isolate and depressurize the line and allow it to cool fully before soldering the strainer into the system. Orient the wye strainer so the screen leg points downward to allow sediment to collect at the blow-off port for easier purging. Verify the NPT-tapped cover port is sealed with an appropriate plug rated for the system pressure and temperature before returning the line to service.
