The APEX cds26n is a 3/8 inch drive, 12-point standard depth SAE socket sized at 7/16 inch. Built from Crestoloy alloy steel and finished with a nickel chrome plating, this socket is engineered for repeated use in demanding service environments. The 12-point off-corner load design engages fastener flats away from the corners, reducing the risk of rounding or stripping fastener heads. It meets or exceeds ASME performance requirements. Licensed HVAC technicians, plumbers, electricians, and general mechanical tradespeople use this type of socket for equipment service, panel work, and component fastening tasks where a reliable drive fit is required.
The cds26n is suited for residential and commercial mechanical service work where 3/8 inch drive tooling is standard. It fits standard 3/8 inch drive ratchets, extensions, and torque wrenches. The 7/16 inch point size is common in HVAC equipment panels, electrical enclosures, plumbing fixture hardware, and general mechanical assemblies. This is a standard SAE-dimension socket appropriate for both bench work and in-field service calls.
Designed as a standard 3/8 inch drive SAE socket compatible with any 3/8 inch drive ratchet, extension bar, or torque wrench meeting standard drive geometry.
This socket is installed and removed by hand on any 3/8 inch drive tool — no special tooling is required beyond a compatible ratchet or wrench. Before using on powered or energized equipment, de-energize electrical panels and lock out all power sources per NFPA 70E safe work practice guidelines. Shut off gas or fluid supply before servicing mechanical fasteners on HVAC or plumbing components. Inspect the socket for cracks or wear before each use and replace if drive engagement is loose or the finish is compromised.
