The APEX 84298 is a 1-inch drive impact extension designed for heavy-duty fastening applications. Machined from chrome molybdenum alloy steel, this extension delivers the tensile strength and torsional resistance required for high-torque impact work. At 7 inches in length, it provides reach in confined or deep-access installations without sacrificing drive integrity. A through hole on the square drive and a pin hole for use with a pin and O-ring retainer keep sockets seated under load. Manganese phosphate coating provides corrosion resistance in shop, field, and outdoor environments. The 84298 meets or exceeds ASME requirements for impact-drive hand tools.
This extension is suited for professional use in commercial and industrial settings where 1-inch drive impact wrenches are standard — heavy equipment maintenance, fleet service, structural steel assembly, and industrial machinery repair. It connects between a 1-inch drive impact wrench and a socket to extend reach into recessed fastener locations. The 7-inch length makes it practical for wheel hubs, flange bolts, and large machinery fasteners where direct drive access is obstructed.
Designed for use with 1-inch drive impact wrenches and 1-inch drive impact sockets in heavy-duty professional applications.
Install and remove this extension with all power sources off and the impact wrench depressurized or disconnected. Seat the extension fully onto the drive anvil before attaching a socket, and use the pin and O-ring to secure the socket on the square drive end. Inspect the extension for cracks or deformation before each use and remove it from service if any damage is found. Do not use this extension with hand-drive ratchets or torque wrenches — it is rated for impact use only.
