The APEX 80434 is a long ball-end hex bit socket designed for 3/8 inch drive tools. It features a 1/8 inch hex bit size and an overall length of 4.922 inches, making it well suited for reaching recessed or obstructed internal hex fasteners. The base socket is constructed from heat-treated alloy steel for durability under repeated use. The bit itself is machined from S2 steel, which provides high impact strength and resistance to wear. This socket is a standard tool for HVAC technicians, plumbers, electricians, and other trade professionals who frequently work with hex-head fasteners in confined spaces.
The 80434 is intended for use in applications where standard hex bit sockets cannot reach fasteners due to depth, angle, or obstruction. The ball-end geometry allows entry at angles up to 25 degrees, which is particularly useful when working inside equipment panels, enclosures, or tight mechanical assemblies. It is sold individually and is compatible with any 3/8 inch drive ratchet, extension, or torque wrench.
Designed for use with any standard 3/8 inch drive ratchet, breaker bar, or torque wrench. Suitable for 1/8 inch internal hex fasteners encountered in HVAC equipment, plumbing fixtures, electrical enclosures, and general mechanical assemblies.
Ensure the drive tool is fully seated into the socket before applying torque to prevent slippage or fastener damage. When using the ball-end angle engagement, avoid applying maximum torque at high offset angles, as this reduces the effective contact area on the fastener. Inspect the bit tip for wear or rounding before use and replace if deformation is visible.
