The APEX 03500NN is a 6-inch flat file designed for material removal and surface finishing on metal workpieces. It features a double-cut pattern on the faces for aggressive stock removal and a single-cut pattern on the edges for controlled finishing work along shoulders and slots. The file is machined from steel and hard stamped for permanent marking. At 0.115 inches thick and 0.59 inches wide, it fits into narrow clearances where larger files cannot reach. This is a second-cut file, placing it between bastard and smooth cut in terms of aggressiveness. It is sold without a handle.
This file is suited for metal fabrication, pipefitting, plumbing rough-in, HVAC sheet metal work, and general mechanical service. Trades use second-cut flat files to deburr pipe ends, dress burrs from cut conduit, smooth valve seats on non-precision surfaces, and fit sheet metal flanges. The 6-inch length makes it practical for confined work areas and field toolboxes. It is sold individually as a single unit.
Designed as a standard 6-inch second-cut flat file for general metalworking, deburring, and surface dressing applications across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical trades.
Files should always be fitted with a proper handle before use to prevent tang injuries. Work the file in controlled forward strokes, lifting on the return stroke to preserve cutting teeth. Keep the file free of metal filings using a file card or wire brush to maintain cutting efficiency. This tool requires no power source and no special certifications to use, but standard shop safety practices including eye protection apply.
