The ANVIL INTERNATIONAL INC 8700135901 is a galvanized reducing coupling designed to connect pipes of two different diameters in threaded piping systems. This fitting transitions from a 2-inch pipe to a 1-1/4-inch pipe and is manufactured with a galvanized finish to resist corrosion in wet or exposed environments. It is a standard threaded fitting used in water supply, HVAC hydronic, and general plumbing distribution systems. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting during new construction, retrofit work, and repair of threaded iron pipe systems where a pipe size reduction is required inline.
This reducing coupling is suited for residential and light commercial piping applications where a transition between a 2-inch main and a 1-1/4-inch branch or service line is needed. Typical install scenarios include domestic water distribution, hydronic heating supply and return lines, and fire protection branch piping. The galvanized finish makes it appropriate for installations where bare black iron would be susceptible to surface corrosion. This fitting is sold in packages of 5 units per order.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 2-inch by 1-1/4-inch NPT threaded iron pipe systems in plumbing and hydronic applications.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable IPC and local plumbing code requirements. Shut off and depressurize the water or fluid system completely before removing or installing any threaded fittings. Apply an appropriate pipe thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly and tighten to a snug, leak-free fit using pipe wrenches. Do not over-torque, as this can crack or deform the fitting threads.
