The ANDERSON METALS CORP 700081-10 is a 5/8-inch brass compression cap designed to terminate or seal a compression-fitting line without soldering. It threads onto a standard compression fitting, compressing a ferrule against the tubing to create a leak-resistant seal. This type of cap is commonly used in plumbing, hydronic, and light mechanical systems where a dead-end or future-use stub-out is needed. The part is lead free compliant and meets the requirements of Public Law 111-380, making it suitable for potable water applications. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers of this fitting.
This compression cap fits 5/8-inch OD tubing and is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing applications. Typical uses include capping off copper supply lines, decommissioning a branch run, or sealing a stub-out during phased construction. The lead free designation makes it appropriate for use on domestic water systems where lead-free materials are required by code.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitment compression cap for 5/8-inch OD tubing in residential and commercial plumbing systems.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber following applicable IPC or local plumbing code requirements. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before fitting the cap. Use an appropriately sized compression nut and ferrule with the cap; do not overtighten, as this can deform the ferrule or crack the fitting body. After installation, slowly restore pressure and inspect the connection for leaks before returning the system to service.
