The Anderson Metals Corp 700061-06 is a 3/8-inch brass compression nut designed for use in compression-style tube and pipe fittings. It threads onto a compression fitting body to seat a ferrule against tubing, creating a leak-resistant mechanical connection without soldering. Made from lead-free brass in compliance with Public Law 111-380, this nut meets federal requirements for use in potable water systems. Plumbers and pipefitters install this component during new construction and retrofit work on water supply lines. It is sold in bulk and packaged in quantities of 10.
This compression nut is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing applications where 3/8-inch compression connections are required. Typical installations include under-sink supply lines, fixture shutoff connections, and similar low-pressure water supply runs. Its lead-free brass construction makes it appropriate for any application contacting drinking water under current federal and state plumbing codes.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-stock compression nut for 3/8-inch compression fitting assemblies used in residential and commercial potable water plumbing systems.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber. Shut off the water supply and relieve line pressure before disassembling any compression fitting. Hand-tighten the compression nut onto the fitting body first, then snug with a wrench — avoid over-tightening, which can crack the ferrule or distort the nut. Local plumbing codes, including the IPC, govern fitting material requirements for potable water applications.
