The ANDERSON METALS CORP 700060-04 is a 1/4 inch brass compression sleeve designed for use in compression-style tube fittings. It seats between the compression nut and the fitting body to create a leak-tight seal when the nut is tightened. This sleeve is lead free compliant, meeting the requirements of Public Law 111-380, making it suitable for potable water applications where lead-free materials are required by code. Plumbers and pipefitters working on residential and light commercial water supply lines rely on this type of sleeve for reliable, tool-accessible connections without the need for soldering.
This compression sleeve is used in water supply piping systems where compression fittings are the connection method of choice. Common applications include fixture supply lines, shutoff valve connections, refrigerator water lines, and other tubing runs where a reusable or serviceable joint is preferred. The part ships in bulk packs of 10, making it practical to stock for service calls or larger installations requiring multiple compression connections.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or stocking component for standard 1/4 inch compression fitting assemblies used in residential and light commercial plumbing systems.
Compression sleeves are installed by licensed plumbers in accordance with local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off the water supply and relieve line pressure before disassembling or installing any compression fitting. Slide the compression nut onto the tubing first, then the sleeve, before inserting the tube into the fitting body and threading the nut. Do not over-tighten the compression nut, as excessive force can deform the sleeve and compromise the seal.
