The ANDERSON METALS 754050-0604 is a 45-degree lead-free brass flared tube female elbow designed for use in refrigeration, HVAC, and plumbing tubing systems. It connects a 3/8-inch OD flared tube to a 1/4-inch female NPT port, making it a direct transition fitting between soft copper or aluminum tubing and threaded pipe connections. Constructed from lead-free brass, this elbow meets material requirements for potable water and mechanical system applications. With a maximum working pressure of 1000 psi for both static and dynamic service, it handles the pressure demands typical of refrigerant lines, fuel gas tubing, and compressed air circuits. Licensed HVAC technicians and plumbers are the primary installers.
This fitting is suited for residential and light commercial applications where a directional change is needed at a flare-to-female-threaded junction. Common install scenarios include connecting copper refrigerant tubing to a service valve or manifold port, routing fuel lines at an angle to a gas appliance fitting, and similar tight-space plumbing runs. The 45-degree angle reduces stress on tubing compared to a 90-degree elbow, which is useful in constrained mechanical compartments. The Flare x FNPT end configuration allows the installer to use standard flare nut tools on the tube side and a pipe wrench or socket on the NPT side.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for systems using 3/8-inch OD flared tubing and 1/4-inch female NPT threaded ports in HVAC, refrigeration, fuel gas, or plumbing applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or HVAC technician in accordance with applicable local mechanical codes. Before installation, shut off and depressurize the line being serviced. Ensure the tube end is cut square, deburred, and properly flared to a 45-degree seat before tightening the flare nut; overtightening can crack the flare or damage the fitting seat. Apply thread sealant or PTFE tape to the NPT threads in compliance with the system fluid type and local code requirements.
