The ANDERSON METALS 754046-1006 is a lead-free brass flared tube connector designed for use in fluid and gas piping systems where a reliable, leak-resistant connection is required between a flared tube and a female NPT port. The fitting uses a 45-degree flare seat on the tube end and a female NPT thread on the pipe end, creating a Flare x FNPT configuration. It accepts a 5/8-inch tube OD and is rated for up to 650 psi working pressure in both static and dynamic service. Lead-free brass construction meets regulatory requirements for potable water and other sensitive fluid applications. Licensed plumbers and HVAC technicians are the primary installers.
This connector is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing, refrigeration line sets, natural gas and propane piping, and hydronic systems where a tube-to-threaded-port transition is needed. The Flare x FNPT end configuration makes it a common choice when connecting copper tubing to valves, manifolds, or threaded fittings in tight installations. A 5/8-inch tube OD is frequently found in refrigerant line applications and medium-bore water supply runs.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for systems using 5/8-inch OD flared tubing with a 3/8-inch female NPT port connection, conforming to NPT thread standards.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or HVAC technician in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IFGC requirements. Shut off and depressurize the system fully before disassembling or installing any flare fitting. Use a calibrated flaring tool to form a consistent 45-degree flare on the tube end before tightening; do not overtighten, as brass flare fittings rely on metal-to-metal seating and can crack if over-torqued. Apply thread sealant or PTFE tape to the NPT threads only, not to the flare end.
