The ANDERSON METALS 730081-05 is a lead free brass compression tube end cap designed to terminate a 1/2-inch compression tube line. It seals the open end of a compression fitting run, preventing flow and maintaining system integrity under pressure. Rated to 3000 psi maximum working pressure, this end cap is built for demanding plumbing and fluid-handling applications. The lead free brass construction meets current potable water standards, making it suitable for both domestic water and general-purpose piping. Plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting where a compression tube run requires a permanent or serviceable closure without soldering or threading the tubing itself.
This end cap is used in residential and light commercial plumbing systems wherever compression fittings are specified. Typical applications include capping unused branch ports, closing off test points, and terminating copper or compatible tubing runs. The compression-style connection allows the fitting to be installed and removed with common hand tools, making it practical for retrofit and service work. Its compact form factor fits into tight spaces where wrench clearance for larger fittings may be limited.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitting for compression tube systems using 1/2-inch compression connections in residential and commercial plumbing installations.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off and depressurize the water supply before beginning work. Hand-tighten the compression cap onto the tubing, then use an appropriately sized wrench to achieve a secure, leak-free connection — do not overtighten, as brass compression fittings can be damaged by excessive torque. Inspect the ferrule seating and tubing end condition before final assembly to ensure a proper seal.
