The AMPROBE TACH-10 is a dual-mode tachometer that measures rotational speed using both contact and noncontact methods. It covers a measurement range of 10 to 19,999 RPM in contact mode and 10 to 99,999 RPM in noncontact mode, with resolution as fine as 0.0001 RPM and accuracy rated at plus or minus 0.1 percent. The large LCD display provides clear readings in the field. HVAC technicians, motor service pros, and mechanical contractors use this instrument to verify fan speed, motor RPM, belt-drive ratios, and shaft rotation on rooftop units, air handlers, and industrial equipment.
The TACH-10 suits residential and commercial service applications where both shaft contact and laser-reflective noncontact measurement are required. Noncontact mode uses reflective tape to capture RPM on spinning shafts or pulleys without direct physical contact, making it practical on live rotating equipment where contact is difficult or unsafe. Contact mode supports direct measurement through the included adapter tip. The instrument ships with an adapter, reflective tape, a 9V battery, and a carrying case, making it field-ready out of the box.
Designed as a general-purpose handheld tachometer for use with rotating equipment across HVAC, mechanical, and electrical service applications where RPM verification is required.
The TACH-10 is a handheld measurement instrument and does not require permanent installation. When using contact mode, shut down or isolate the equipment if direct shaft access requires entering a live panel or removing guards. When using noncontact mode, apply reflective tape to the rotating surface per the included instructions before taking readings. Always follow applicable NFPA 70E arc flash and PPE guidelines when working near energized electrical equipment during measurement.
