The American Plumbing Partsmaster 989108 is an OEM-specification toilet flapper designed to restore proper flush valve sealing in compatible Kohler and Ameriline toilets. The flapper controls water release from the tank to the bowl during each flush cycle and reseats to create a watertight seal that prevents continuous water loss. A failed or worn flapper is one of the most common causes of running toilets and wasted water. This part is packaged for single-unit service use and is installed by licensed plumbers or experienced service technicians performing routine toilet repair and maintenance.
This flapper is intended for use in residential toilet flush valve assemblies built to Kohler and Ameriline specifications. It is a direct OEM-style replacement suited for standard tank-type toilets where the original flapper has deteriorated, lost its seal, or become warped with age. Plumbing service calls for running or phantom-flushing toilets commonly result in flapper replacement as the primary repair action.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement flapper for Kohler and Ameriline toilet flush valve assemblies, as indicated by the supplier product description.
Shut off the water supply at the angle stop valve below the toilet tank before beginning service. Drain the tank fully by flushing, then disconnect the old flapper from the overflow tube ears and the flush chain. Install the replacement flapper by seating the side ears onto the overflow tube and reconnecting the chain to the flush handle arm with appropriate slack. Restore water supply and test for proper seal and flush function before completing the service call.
