The AMERICAN LOCK A5202KA-43737 is a heavy-duty steel padlock designed for industrial and commercial lockout/tagout applications, gate security, and equipment access control. The rectangular steel body measures 1-3/4 inches wide and 3/4 inches thick, housing a 5-pin tumbler cylinder for reliable key retention and pick resistance. The shackle is boron alloy — a hardened material that resists cutting and sawing — with a 5/16-inch diameter, 3/4-inch clearance width, and 3-inch height. Keyed Alike configuration means multiple padlocks in the same series operate on one key, simplifying access management across a job site or facility.
This padlock is suited for industrial facilities, manufacturing plants, utilities, and construction sites where consistent keying across multiple lock points is required. Licensed tradespeople and safety professionals commonly deploy Keyed Alike padlocks in lockout/tagout (LOTO) programs to control energy isolation points on electrical panels, valves, and machinery. The 3-inch shackle height accommodates hasp-style lockout devices and standard gate staples commonly found in commercial and light industrial installations.
Designed as a keyed-alike padlock within the AMERICAN LOCK A5202 series. Compatible with standard hasp-style lockout/tagout devices, gate staples, and chain loops that accept a 5/16-inch diameter shackle with 3/4-inch clearance width.
Installation requires no special tools beyond proper fitment into the target hasp or staple. Before servicing any energy isolation point, verify that all energy sources are fully de-energized and locked out in accordance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.147 or the applicable facility LOTO procedure. Do not force the shackle into an undersized hasp opening, as this may compromise the locking mechanism. Keyed Alike sets should be documented and key copies controlled to maintain the integrity of an access management program.
