The ALVORD POLK 10595 is a straight-flute chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in metal components. Built from high-speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, this reamer holds a diameter tolerance of +0.0002 to 0.0000 inches, making it suitable for applications that demand tight fits and smooth bore surfaces. The straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in standard drill chucks or collets. With 6 flutes and right-hand cutting direction, it removes material evenly and produces a clean, consistent finish. It weighs 0.5 pounds and is sold individually. This tool is a standard choice for machinists, tool-and-die workers, and maintenance professionals performing precision reaming operations.
This reamer is suited for use in machine shops, maintenance facilities, and production environments where accurate hole sizing is required. The 0.3235 inch diameter falls within the 0.3000 to 0.3499 inch range, covering common fractional and letter-size hole applications. The 6 inch overall length and 1.5 inch flute length make it practical for through-holes and blind holes of moderate depth in a drill press, lathe, or CNC machining center setup. It is not designed for coolant-through delivery and is not a dowel pin or over/under size reamer.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit chucking reamer for machine shop and maintenance applications requiring a 0.3235 inch finished hole diameter with a straight-cylindrical shank. Part of the ALVORD POLK Series 897-A-S.
Chucking reamers are installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals using drill presses, lathes, or CNC machining centers. Secure the shank firmly in the chuck or collet before operation and verify spindle alignment to avoid bell-mouthing or taper in the finished hole. Always remove the workpiece from the machine and de-energize the spindle before changing or inspecting tooling. Do not use this reamer as a cutting or drilling tool - it is designed only for sizing a previously drilled or bored hole.
