The ALORIS DA-41D is a boring bar holder designed for use with engine lathes and turret lathes in professional machine shop environments. Part of the Series DA quick-change tool post system, this holder accepts boring bars up to 2 inches in diameter and accommodates lathes with a swing range of 17 to 48 inches. The overall height measures 3.5 inches, with a centerline height of 1.75 inches, allowing precise tool alignment relative to the workpiece centerline. Machinists and toolroom technicians install this holder as part of a quick-change setup to reduce tool changeover time and maintain repeatable positioning.
The DA-41D is suited for production and job-shop lathe work where boring operations are performed on a variety of part sizes. The 17 to 48 inch swing compatibility covers a wide range of engine lathe sizes commonly found in commercial and industrial machine shops. It integrates with the Series DA quick-change tool post system, allowing operators to swap holders without disturbing the tool post itself. Through-coolant is not supported on this holder.

Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and disengage the lathe spindle completely before mounting or adjusting any tool post holder. Secure the boring bar firmly within the holder bore using the provided set screws and verify tool centerline height before commencing any cutting operation. Follow the machine manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety standards during setup.
