The ALORIS CXA is a wedge-type quick change tool post designed for lathes with a swing range of 13 to 18 inches. It provides fast, repeatable tool changes without losing center height reference, making it a standard choice for production and job-shop turning operations. The tool post stands 6.125 inches overall, with a tool post height of 5.125 inches and a centerline height range of 1.1875 to 2.3125 inches. It indexes through 24 positions and ships with a mounting wrench. Installation is performed by machinists and lathe operators on manual engine lathes and toolroom lathes.
The CXA series fits mid-size engine lathes with 13 to 18 inch swing capacity. It is used in both production environments and toolroom settings where frequent tool changes and repeatable setups are required. The 3/4-inch bolt hole diameter accommodates standard compound rest T-slots in this lathe size class. The 24-position indexing ring allows the operator to quickly rotate and lock the post at consistent, pre-set angles without remeasuring center height on every change.
Designed for manual engine lathes and toolroom lathes with a swing capacity of 13 to 18 inches and a compound rest bolt hole diameter of 3/4 inch.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or lathe operator. Power down and de-energize the lathe completely before removing the existing tool post or performing any compound rest work. Ensure the compound rest T-slot stud and nut are in serviceable condition before mounting. Use the included mounting wrench to seat and torque the post securely to the compound rest before returning the machine to service.
