The ALORIS CXA-13 is an extension tool holder designed for use with CXA-series quick-change tool post systems on engine lathes. It accepts cutting tools from 1/2 inch up to 3/4 inch and provides a centerline height of 1-7/16 inches with an overall height of 2-1/8 inches. The extension dimension E measures 3-3/8 inches, giving the operator additional reach when boring, facing, or turning in tight clearance situations. This holder is sized for lathes with a swing range of 13 to 18 inches. Machinists and tool room technicians working in production or job shop environments install this holder directly onto a compatible CXA quick-change tool post without additional shimming in most setups.

The CXA-13 is suited for manual engine lathes in the 13-to-18-inch swing class, covering a broad range of bench and gap-bed machines common in machine shops, maintenance facilities, and vocational training environments. The extension design is particularly useful when additional tool projection is needed beyond what a standard straight holder provides, such as when working near chuck jaws or with large-diameter workpieces. Through-coolant is not supported on this holder.
