The ALORIS CA-6 is a multiple tool post holder designed for engine lathes with a swing range of 14 to 20 inches. Built for the Series CA quick-change tool post system, it accepts cutting tools from 1/2 inch up to 3/4 inch and provides a centerline height of 1-9/16 inches with an overall height of 2-1/2 inches. The CA-6 allows a machinist to stage multiple cutting tools on a single holder, reducing setup time between operations. It is installed by machinists and tool-room operators working in production or job-shop environments where rapid tool changes are a priority.
The CA-6 is suited for horizontal engine lathes in the 14- to 20-inch swing class, covering a wide range of manual lathes found in job shops, maintenance facilities, and vocational training environments. The holder integrates directly into the ALORIS Series CA quick-change system, making it a drop-in addition to an existing CA tool post setup. Maximum cutting tool size is 3/4 inch, keeping it aligned with general-purpose turning, facing, and parting operations on mid-size lathes.
Designed for use with ALORIS Series CA quick-change tool post systems on engine lathes with a swing of 14 to 20 inches.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician. Before mounting or adjusting any tool holder, confirm the lathe is fully powered down and the spindle is locked. The holder seats onto the Series CA tool post dovetail and is secured with the post's locking cam handle - verify the holder is fully seated and locked before running the spindle. Follow the machine manufacturer's tooling setup guidelines and any applicable shop safety procedures for lathe operation.
