The ALORIS BXA-7 is a universal parting blade holder engineered for use with quick-change tool post systems on engine lathes. Designed for the BXA series, it accepts parting blades up to 11/16 inch in height and positions the cutting edge at a centerline height of 1 inch. The holder stands 1-3/4 inches overall height and is built to handle lathe swings in the 10- to 15-inch range. Licensed machinists and toolroom technicians use this holder to perform cutoff and grooving operations with consistent blade alignment and repeatable positioning.
The BXA-7 is suited for engine lathes in the 10- to 15-inch swing class, making it a standard fit for mid-size manual and semi-production lathes found in job shops, maintenance facilities, and vocational settings. It mounts to any BXA-series quick-change tool post and allows the operator to swap tooling without re-indicating centerline height between operations. Through-coolant is not supported on this holder.
Designed for use with BXA-series quick-change tool posts on engine lathes with 10- to 15-inch swing capacity.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician familiar with quick-change tool post systems. Power down and bring the lathe spindle to a complete stop before mounting or removing any tool holder. Secure the holder firmly to the tool post using the standard BXA locking mechanism and verify blade projection and centerline alignment before taking a cut. Follow the lathe and tool post manufacturer guidelines for proper clamping torque and blade projection limits.
