The ALORIS BXA-1 is a turning and facing tool post holder designed for metal lathes with a swing range of 10 to 15 inches. Part of the BXA series quick-change tooling system, it accepts cutting tool shanks from 1/4 inch up to 5/8 inch, making it compatible with a wide range of standard turning and facing inserts and toolbits. The holder measures 3 inches in overall length and stands 1-3/4 inches overall height, with a centerline height of 1-1/8 inches. Weighing 1.38 pounds, it is a solid, purpose-built component intended for installation by machinists and tool room technicians working with mid-size engine lathes.
The BXA-1 is suited for general turning and facing operations on engine lathes in the 10 to 15 inch swing class. It is a standard Number 1 holder in the BXA quick-change series, which is commonly used in job shops, maintenance shops, and training environments where repeatable tool positioning and fast changeover are required. Through-coolant is not supported on this holder.
Designed for use with BXA series quick-change tool post systems on engine lathes with a swing range of 10 to 15 inches.
Installation is performed by machinists familiar with quick-change tool post systems. Power down and bring the lathe spindle to a full stop before mounting or adjusting any tool holder. Secure the cutting tool within the specified 1/4 to 5/8 inch shank range before tightening the holder set screw. Verify centerline height alignment with the lathe spindle centerline before beginning a cut.
