The ALORIS #6-IP is a three-piece Series EA tool post holder set designed for lathes with a swing of 25 inches and up. The set includes a Style 1 Turning and Facing Holder, a Style 2 Boring, Turning, and Facing Holder, and a tool post with T-nut. Built for rigid, repeatable tooling setups, the #6-IP accommodates a bolt hole diameter of 1-1/4 inches and is suited to production and job-shop turning operations. Machinists and tool room technicians rely on this set to establish a complete quick-change tooling station on larger manual lathes without sourcing holders, post, and hardware separately.
The #6-IP is intended for use on manual lathes with a minimum swing of 25 inches, covering a range of heavy-duty turning, facing, and boring operations. The Series EA designation identifies the tool post size class, which corresponds to larger-capacity lathes commonly found in production shops, apprentice training facilities, and industrial maintenance environments. The set provides the core tooling needed to begin turning operations immediately after mounting.
Designed for use with manual lathes having a swing of 25 inches and up that accept Series EA quick-change tool post systems with a 1-1/4-inch bolt hole diameter.
Installation is performed by a machinist or tool room technician. Power down and lock out the lathe before mounting the tool post to the compound rest. Secure the T-nut in the compound rest T-slot and torque the post fastener according to the lathe manufacturer's specifications. Verify that each holder seats fully and that cutting tools are clamped at the correct center height before resuming operation.
