The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING TM62511 is a solid carbide helical flute thread mill designed for cutting internal UNC threads at 5/8-11. With a 0.4700-inch cutting diameter and a TiAlN coating, this tool delivers thermal and wear resistance in demanding milling applications. The 4-flute, right-hand configuration and 1.2500-inch length of cut make it well suited for through and blind-hole threading on CNC machining centers. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install and run this tool as part of a thread milling cycle rather than tapping. The 0.5000-inch shank diameter fits standard ER and side-lock toolholders commonly found in production and job-shop environments.
This thread mill is built for internal threading operations on workpieces requiring a 5/8-11 UNC thread profile. It is appropriate for use in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where a solid carbide substrate and TiAlN coating provide the necessary hardness and heat resistance. At 3.5000 inches overall length with a 0.5000-inch shank, it reaches typical boss and flange features on industrial components. Coolant-through capability is not available on this tool, so external coolant or minimum quantity lubrication should be applied at the cutting zone.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use thread milling tool for CNC machining centers capable of helical interpolation, targeting internal 5/8-11 UNC thread applications with a minimum nominal bore diameter of 0.6250 inches.
This tool is installed and operated by trained machinists or CNC programmers on 3-axis or greater machining centers using a helical interpolation thread milling cycle. Ensure the spindle and toolholder are fully powered down and the machine is in a safe state before loading or changing the tool. Verify runout at the shank before production to avoid thread form errors. Do not use this tool in a direct tapping cycle; it is designed exclusively for CNC thread milling operations.
