The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING TM75012 is a solid carbide helical flute thread mill designed to cut 3/4-12 UN threads in both internal and external applications. With 4 right-hand flutes and a TiAlN coating, it handles the thermal and abrasive demands of production threading in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The cutting diameter is 0.495 inches, the length of cut is 1.25 inches, and the overall length is 3.5 inches. The 1/2-inch shank diameter fits standard toolholders used on CNC machining centers. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers in job shop and production environments.
This thread mill is suited for CNC milling machines equipped with helical interpolation capability. It handles both internal bores and external profiles in a single tool, making it practical for shops running mixed threading work. The UN thread standard and 12 TPI specification make it applicable to general industrial fastener and fitting thread profiles in the 3/4-inch nominal diameter range. No coolant-through capability is present, so flood or mist coolant delivery at the spindle is the recommended approach for chip evacuation and thermal management.

Thread milling requires a CNC control with helical interpolation and a correctly programmed toolpath for the target thread pitch and hand. Confirm shank seating depth and runout in the toolholder before cutting — excessive runout degrades thread quality and tool life. Power down and lock out the spindle before tool changes. Follow the machine tool manufacturer and tooling manufacturer feed and speed recommendations for the workpiece material.
