The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING TM50013-3T2X is a helical flute thread mill designed for cutting 1/2-inch UN threads in both internal and external applications. Built from solid carbide with an AM210 coating, it delivers the wear resistance and surface hardness needed for production threading in ferrous and nonferrous materials. The tool features 4 left-hand flutes, a 13 teeth-per-inch (TPI) configuration, and a 0.3600-inch cutting diameter. With a 3.0000-inch overall length and a long-reach design, it handles deeper threading passes where standard-length tooling cannot reach. Shank diameter is 0.3750 inches. Machinists and CNC programmers working in job shops and production environments will find this a capable option for multi-start and single-pass thread milling cycles.
This thread mill is suited for CNC machining centers running UN-standard thread programs in both through-hole and blind-hole configurations. The internal and external threading capability makes it a versatile single-tool solution for shops threading 1/2-inch features without switching between dedicated internal and external tooling. Its 1.0800-inch length of cut accommodates typical thread engagement depths in standard workpiece materials. No coolant-through capability, so external coolant or mist lubrication strategies apply.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers accepting a 0.3750-inch round shank, cutting UN-standard 1/2-inch internal and external threads per the specifications of this tool geometry.
Installation and operation should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or tooling specialist. Secure the shank in a collet or tool holder rated for the 0.3750-inch diameter before use, and verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a threading cycle. Power down and lock out the spindle before any tool change. Because this tool has no coolant-through capability, confirm that an adequate external coolant or mist lubrication strategy is in place before cutting to prevent premature tool wear.
