Part of the T-A Pro series, this insert seats in a Size 2 holder and features a 132-degree point angle optimized for entry stability and chip control in ferrous materials. The AM300 PVD coating provides enhanced wear resistance and thermal protection during high-speed drilling. At 0.1875 inches thick and 1 inch in diameter, this insert delivers consistent geometry and dimensional accuracy across production and job-shop applications. Licensed machinists and tooling technicians install this insert as a replaceable cutting element within modular spade drill body systems.
This insert is suited for drilling steel in both manual and CNC machining environments. The T-A Pro series is a modular spade drilling platform commonly used in horizontal and vertical machining centers, lathes with live tooling, and dedicated drill presses. Primary workpiece material classification is P-grade steel, covering mild steel, alloy steel, and similar ferrous stock. It is a direct replacement insert for Size 2 T-A Pro spade drill bodies where worn or chipped inserts need to be swapped without replacing the entire drill assembly. Sold individually per package with a minimum order quantity of 2 units.

Installation of spade drill inserts should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the spindle fully stopped and machine power isolated. Seat the insert fully into the drill body pocket and torque the clamping screw to the holder manufacturer specification using a calibrated torque wrench. Inspect the seating surface and insert pocket for chips or debris before installation, as contamination can affect runout and insert retention. Follow all applicable shop safety procedures and machine guarding requirements during tool changes.
