The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING J1926-07-C5A is a Grade C5A carbide porting insert designed for hydraulic and fluid-port machining applications. It carries a TiAlN (titanium aluminum nitride) coating for improved wear resistance and thermal stability at the cutting edge. The insert uses the J1926 style with size code 07, and it conforms to multiple international and SAE standards, making it a reliable choice for precision port-machining operations in metalworking environments. Licensed machinists and CNC tooling technicians working on hydraulic manifolds, port connectors, and fluid-system components are the primary installers of this insert.
This insert is suited for universal workpiece material applications, covering material groups H, K, N, and P. That range includes steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and non-metallic materials, giving it broad applicability across hydraulic component manufacturing and precision machining shops. The J1926 insert style is specifically designed for SAE straight-thread port and boss machining, commonly encountered in hydraulic and pneumatic system fabrication for both industrial and mobile equipment.
Designed for use with J1926-style porting toolholders. Compatible workpiece material groups include H, K, N, and P as defined by ISO material classification. Conforms to ISO 11926-1, ISO 6149, SAE J-1926, SAE J-2244-1, SAE AS5202, JDS-G173.1, and MS-33649 standards for straight-thread port and boss geometry.
Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or tooling technicians. Ensure the toolholder and insert pocket are clean and free of chips or debris before seating the insert. Power down and lock out all machine spindles before changing inserts. Follow the toolholder manufacturer's torque specifications for clamping hardware, and inspect the insert seating surface for damage before engaging a cut.
