The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING CCMT-09T304 is a solid carbide indexable drill insert designed for precision metal-cutting operations in CNC and manual drilling applications. Configured in the CCMT09 insert style with an 80-degree diamond shape and a 7-degree relief angle, this insert delivers controlled cutting geometry suited to tight-tolerance bore work. The inscribed circle measures 0.3752 inches (9.53 mm), thickness is 0.1559 inches, and the corner radius is 0.0157 inches (0.40 mm). The bright, uncoated finish makes it well suited for non-ferrous and specific ferrous materials where coating would impede chip flow or cause built-up edge. Licensed machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the typical end users.
This insert is used in indexable drilling and boring tool bodies that accept the CCMT09T304 insert geometry. It is appropriate for precision machining centers, CNC lathes, and manual turret lathes performing internal or external turning, boring, and light-duty drilling operations. The ANSI code ANSI CCMT 3(2.5)1 provides direct cross-reference to compatible toolholders. Applications span job shops, production machining environments, and OEM manufacturing floors where repeatable insert changeover without regrinding is required.
Designed for use in toolholders conforming to the ANSI CCMT 3(2.5)1 standard that accept the CCMT09T304 insert size. Verify toolholder seat geometry and clamping style before installation.
Insert installation and changeover should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before removing or seating any indexable insert. Use the correct torque driver for the clamp screw to avoid cracking the carbide substrate — consult the toolholder manufacturer specification for clamp torque. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or debris before seating a new insert, as contamination can cause premature edge failure.
