The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 8IP-15 is a TP15 Torx Plus driver designed for seating and removing indexable screws in drilling toolholders. It provides the correct drive engagement for TP15 Torx Plus socket screws used to clamp indexable inserts. The driver is part of the T-A Series tooling platform and is compatible with screw part number 7495-IP15-10. At 0.5 pounds, it is a lightweight hand tool suited for bench and machine-side use by machinists and toolroom technicians working with indexable drilling systems.
This driver is used in metalworking and machining environments where T-A Series indexable drill bodies require insert changes or maintenance. It is appropriate for production machining shops, toolroom settings, and field service on CNC and manual drilling equipment. The TP15 Torx Plus drive format provides better torque transfer and reduced cam-out compared to standard Torx drives, which is important when working with small-diameter clamping screws on indexable toolholders.
Compatible with screw part number 7495-IP15-10 used in ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING T-A Series indexable drilling toolholders requiring a TP15 Torx Plus drive.
Insert changes on indexable drilling toolholders should be performed with the machine powered down and the spindle locked. Use the correct TP15 driver to avoid damaging the screw head socket. Apply only hand torque consistent with the toolholder manufacturer specifications for the clamping screw. Damaged or stripped clamping screws should be replaced before returning the toolholder to service.
