The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 4C22P-0112 is a solid carbide spade drill insert designed for high-performance deep-hole and through-hole drilling operations in demanding machining environments. Built to the GEN2 T-A series standard, this insert measures 1-3/8 inches in diameter and fits a Seat Size 2 holder. The insert features a 132-degree point angle and is finished with an AM300 PVD coating, delivering extended tool life and improved wear resistance when cutting hard and abrasive workpiece materials. Manufactured to a C2 (K20) material grade, it is suited for production drilling where consistent geometry and edge integrity are critical.
This spade drill insert is engineered for use with compatible GEN2 T-A series spade drill holders in machining centers, lathes, and dedicated drilling machines. It is rated for use across a broad range of workpiece materials including stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. These material categories cover primary workpiece material codes M, K, N, and S. Typical applications include high-volume production drilling in aerospace, automotive, and general metalworking shops where tool changeover speed and repeatable hole quality are priorities.
Designed for use with ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING GEN2 T-A series Seat Size 2 spade drill holders. Confirm holder seat size and insert series designation before installation to ensure proper seating and clamping.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool holder is secured in a vise or holder block before seating or removing the insert. Use the manufacturer-recommended torx or hex key for the clamping screw and do not overtighten beyond the holder manufacturer's published specification. Inspect the insert seat for chips or debris before each insert change to maintain accurate positioning and prevent premature edge failure.
