The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 4C12P-25 is a solid carbide spade drill insert designed for high-performance drilling in steel and hard materials. It features a 132-degree point angle and carries an AM300 PVD coating classified under the C1 (K35) material grade, which supports extended tool life in demanding cutting conditions. Part of the GEN2 T-A series, this insert seats into Size 2 spade drill holders and delivers consistent, repeatable hole quality. At 25 mm (63/64 inch) in diameter, it suits mid-range bore applications where carbide rigidity and coating durability are required. Machinists and toolroom technicians rely on this insert for production drilling cycles where tool change intervals and hole tolerances matter.
This insert is suited for use in machining centers, CNC lathes with live tooling, and drill press setups where the GEN2 T-A spade drill system is already in use. Primary workpiece materials include steel and hard materials, consistent with the P and H material group classifications. The AM300 PVD coating provides wear resistance in these material classes. It is intended as a replacement insert for existing Size 2 GEN2 T-A spade drill holders and is sold individually.
Designed for use with Size 2 GEN2 T-A series spade drill holders. Compatible primary workpiece materials are steel and hard materials per P and H material group codes.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. The drill holder must be fully secured in the spindle and the machine must be powered down and locked out before inserting or removing the spade drill insert. Inspect the seat and clamping screw for wear or debris before seating the insert. Follow the tool manufacturer's recommended seating procedure and torque specifications for the GEN2 T-A holder to ensure proper insert retention during operation.
