The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 452H-34.5 is a cobalt spade drill insert engineered for high-performance hole-making in demanding machining applications. Sized at 34.5 mm in diameter with a 132-degree point angle, this insert is part of the GEN2 T-A series and features an AM200 PVD coating that extends tool life in abrasive and hard-to-machine workpiece materials. At 0.1875 inches thick, the insert seats into a Seat Size 2 holder body. Machinists, tool-and-die shops, and production floor operators working with steel, stainless steel, cast iron, super-alloys, titanium, and hard materials will find this insert suited to the workload demands those materials present.
The 452H-34.5 is designed for use in GEN2 T-A spade drill holder bodies accepting a Seat Size 2 insert. It performs across a broad range of primary workpiece material categories including steel (P), stainless steel (M), cast iron (K), super-alloys and titanium (S), and hard materials (H). Typical applications include production drilling in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and turning centers where consistent hole quality and tool longevity are priorities. This insert is sold individually and is intended as a direct replacement or consumable replenishment for GEN2 T-A system tooling already in use.
Designed for use with GEN2 T-A spade drill holder bodies requiring a Seat Size 2 insert. Compatible primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, super-alloys, titanium, and hard materials as identified by ISO codes P, M, K, S, and H.
Insert replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician following the machine tool manufacturer spindle lockout and tooling change procedures. Ensure the insert pocket and seating surfaces are clean and free of chips or debris before seating the new insert. Use the torque specifications provided in the Allied Machine and Engineering GEN2 T-A tooling documentation for the clamping screw — do not estimate or substitute torque values. Inspect the holder body seating surfaces for wear or damage at each insert change interval.
