The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 452H-0105 is a cobalt spade drill insert engineered for high-performance hole-making in demanding metalworking applications. Designed for the GEN2 T-A modular spade drill system, this insert seats in a Seat Size 2 holder and features a 132-degree point angle for aggressive cutting geometry. The AM200 PVD coating significantly extends tool life when working through hard or abrasive workpiece materials. At 0.1875 inches thick and 1-5/32 inches in diameter, this insert delivers consistent bore quality across a wide range of industrial drilling operations. Machinists, toolroom technicians, and CNC operators handling production drilling will find this insert suited to high-feed, short-cycle applications.
The 452H-0105 is intended for use in machining centers, drill presses, and turning centers equipped with a compatible GEN2 T-A Seat Size 2 spade drill body. It is rated for primary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, super-alloys, titanium, and hard materials, covering ISO material classifications P, M, K, S, and H. This range of material compatibility makes the insert well-suited for job shops and production environments that run mixed material schedules without frequent insert changeovers.
Designed for use with ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING GEN2 T-A spade drill holders accepting a Seat Size 2 insert. Compatible with workpiece materials classified as P (steel), M (stainless steel), K (cast iron), S (super-alloys and titanium), and H (hard materials).
Spade drill insert replacement is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom personnel following standard lockout and machine-stop procedures. Ensure the drill body seat is clean and free of chips or debris before seating the insert. Use the manufacturer-specified insert screw and torque driver to secure the insert — do not substitute hardware. Verify tool-length offset and runout after any insert change before resuming production cuts.
