The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 451H-.859 is a cobalt spade drill insert designed for high-performance drilling operations in demanding industrial and machining environments. This insert features a 132-degree point angle and an AM200 PVD coating, which improves wear resistance and tool life when cutting through tough workpiece materials. At 0.1563 inches thick, it fits Seat Size 1 holders in the GEN2 T-A spade drill system. Licensed machinists and tooling technicians install this insert in production drilling applications where speed, accuracy, and insert longevity are critical requirements.
This insert is engineered for use across a broad range of workpiece materials, including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, super-alloys, titanium, and hard materials. The GEN2 T-A series platform is commonly deployed in CNC machining centers and production drilling setups in both job shop and high-volume manufacturing environments. The AM200 PVD coating addresses the elevated heat and abrasion demands associated with super-alloys and hard material cutting. It is sold individually and intended for use as a replacement or spare in existing Seat Size 1 GEN2 T-A holders.
Designed for use with Seat Size 1 holders in the Allied Machine and Engineering GEN2 T-A spade drill system. Rated for primary workpiece material codes P, M, K, S, and H, corresponding to steel, stainless steel, cast iron, super-alloys and titanium, and hard materials.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine before removing or seating the insert. Ensure the holder seat is clean and free of chips or debris before inserting to maintain proper seating and runout. Follow the toolholder manufacturer's torque specifications for the clamping screw, and inspect the seat for wear before each insert change.
