The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 434T-0200 is a spade drill insert designed for high-performance hole-making in metal cutting applications. This insert measures 2 inches in diameter and features a 132-degree point angle, making it well-suited for drilling into steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals. Manufactured from M4 grade high speed steel and finished with a physical vapor deposition (PVD) titanium nitride (TiN) coating, the 434T-0200 delivers improved wear resistance and longer tool life compared to uncoated HSS inserts. It belongs to the GEN2 T-A series and carries a Seat Size 4 designation. Licensed machinists and tool and die professionals are the primary installers of this insert type.
This insert fits within the Allied Machine GEN2 T-A spade drill system and is intended for production and job-shop environments where repeatable, accurate large-diameter drilling is required. Typical applications include drilling through steel plate, cast iron components, and non-ferrous workpieces in both manual and CNC machining setups. The 132-degree point geometry reduces axial thrust and improves chip evacuation in harder workpiece materials. It is packaged individually and ordered in single-unit quantities.
Designed for use with Allied Machine and Engineering GEN2 T-A series spade drill holders accepting a Seat Size 4 insert. Compatible primary workpiece materials include steel (P), cast iron (K), and non-ferrous metals (N) as indicated by ISO material codes in the product specifications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the spade drill holder is removed from the spindle and all machine power is locked out before seating or removing the insert. Use the correct torque wrench and insert screw specified by the holder manufacturer — do not overtighten, as this can damage the seat or insert. Verify insert seating and alignment before returning the tool to service.
