The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 25050S-200L is an indexable spade drill body designed for deep-hole drilling operations in metalworking and machining environments. Built on the T-A 5 series platform, it accepts interchangeable spade drill inserts and handles a drill diameter range of 2.5 to 3.5 inches with a maximum drill depth of 18.25 inches. The body is constructed from steel and features a straight flute design with through-coolant capability, using axial concentric and radial coolant entry to maintain cutting edge temperature and clear chips during extended-reach operations. This is a production-grade tool installed and operated by machinists and CNC operators in shop environments.
The 25050S-200L is rated for general-purpose use across a broad range of workpiece materials, including cast iron, hardened steels, non-ferrous alloys, stainless, heat-resistant superalloys, and non-metallic materials as indicated by the universal material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. Its extended-length body makes it well suited for deep-hole applications on vertical machining centers, horizontal boring mills, and manual boring equipment where a standard-length drill body would not reach depth. The flatted cylindrical shank seats securely in compatible drill holders or chucks.
The 25050S-200L is compatible with T-A 5 series indexable spade drill inserts and is designed for use with holder systems and machine spindles that accept a 2-inch flatted cylindrical shank. It is rated for universal primary workpiece materials including material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S.
Installation and operation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with deep-hole drilling setups and the T-A spade drill system. Verify that the machine spindle and tool holder are rated for the shank diameter and the cutting forces generated at the intended drill diameter before mounting. Ensure coolant supply pressure and flow rate are adequate for the through-coolant circuit before initiating a cut, and confirm the 1/2-inch NPT coolant connection is properly sealed. Inspect the insert seating pocket and clamping hardware for wear or damage each time the insert is indexed or replaced.
