The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 25020S-125F is a T-A 2 series indexable spade drill designed for deep-hole drilling applications in a wide range of workpiece materials. The drill accepts interchangeable spade inserts and delivers through-coolant capability via an axial concentric entry, helping to flush chips and manage heat at the cutting zone. The shank is flatted and measures 1.25 inches in diameter, fitting standard drill holder tooling. Overall length is 15-11/32 inches, with a flute length of 11-3/8 inches that supports the listed maximum drill depth. This is a general-purpose steel-body holder installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals on CNC lathes, machining centers, and drill presses.
The 25020S-125F is rated for universal primary workpiece material compatibility, covering material groups H, K, M, N, P, and S. These groups span steels, stainless steels, cast irons, non-ferrous metals, high-temperature alloys, and similar materials, making this holder appropriate for job shops and production environments running varied material types. The extended-length configuration is suited for deep-bore work where standard-length drills cannot reach the required depth. A flatted shank provides positive drive retention in the holder and resists rotation under cutting torque.
Designed for use with T-A 2 series spade drill inserts as specified by ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING. Accepts inserts drilling from 31/32 to 1-3/8 inches in diameter. Compatible with standard toolholders accommodating a 1.25-inch flatted shank.
Installation and setup should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle and all tooling are fully de-energized and locked out before mounting or changing inserts. Verify holder-to-spindle interface fit and confirm coolant line connections before initiating a cut. Follow the machine tool manufacturer and insert manufacturer recommendations for feed rates and spindle speeds appropriate to the workpiece material.
