The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 24010S-075L is an indexable spade drill designed for precision hole-making across a broad range of workpiece materials. Part of the T-A 1 Series, it accepts interchangeable spade blades to cover a drilling diameter range of 45/64 to 15/16 inches, making it a versatile holder for general-purpose drilling operations. The body is constructed from steel, features a straight flute configuration, and supports through-coolant delivery via a 1/8-inch NPT coolant hole, helping evacuate chips and manage heat at the cutting zone. Machinists and tool-room technicians install this holder on CNC machining centers and manual lathes or mills.
This spade drill holder is suited for production and job-shop environments where multiple hole sizes must be drilled with a single toolholder platform. The T-A 1 Series accommodates universal primary workpiece material codes P, M, K, N, S, and H, covering steels, stainless steels, cast irons, nonferrous alloys, high-temperature alloys, and hardened materials. The flatted cylindrical shank measures 3/4 inches in diameter with a 3-inch shank length, and the tool reaches a maximum drilling depth of 6-5/8 inches, making it appropriate for deep-hole drilling applications in both horizontal and vertical machining setups.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or production toolholder within the Allied Machine and Engineering T-A 1 Series indexable spade drill system. Compatible with spade drill blades and inserts specified for the T-A 1 Series platform across the stated diameter range.
Installation and setup should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before inserting or removing the toolholder from the spindle or turret. Ensure the flatted shank is fully seated and clamped according to the machine tool manufacturer torque specifications for the relevant tool-holding system. Verify coolant line connections at the 1/8-inch NPT port are sealed and leak-free before initiating a cutting cycle.
