The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 24000H-002I is an indexable spade drill designed for precision hole-making in a wide range of workpiece materials. It accepts interchangeable spade drill inserts within a 33/64 to 11/16 inch diameter range and drills to a maximum depth of 2-1/2 inches. The helical flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation, and the through-coolant design delivers cutting fluid directly to the cutting zone via radial entry ports. This tool is part of the T-A 0 series and is intended for use by machinists and metalworking professionals in production and job-shop environments.
The 24000H-002I is suited for general-purpose drilling operations across universal workpiece material categories, including ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Its 2MT taper shank mounts directly into Morse Taper spindles commonly found on drill presses, lathes, and machining centers equipped with taper adapters. The standard-length body and flute configuration make it a practical choice for through-hole and blind-hole applications in both vertical and horizontal setups. Compatible rotary coolant adapter designation is 2T-2SR for shops running through-coolant systems.
Designed for use with the T-A 0 series indexable spade drill system. Compatible with rotary coolant adapter 2T-2SR. Mounts in any spindle or toolholder accepting a 2MT (No. 2 Morse Taper) shank with a 0.7000 inch shank diameter. Primary workpiece material codes supported: H, K, M, N, P, S.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully powered down and locked out before tool changes. Seat the 2MT taper shank fully into the mating taper socket and secure with the appropriate drawbar or drift to prevent movement under cutting load. Verify coolant line connections at the 1/16 inch NPT ports before initiating through-coolant flow. Inspect the spade drill insert for secure seating and proper torque on the clamping screw before starting the cut.
