The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 22010S-004I is an indexable spade drill designed for precise hole-making across a broad range of workpiece materials. Built on the T-A 1 series platform, it accepts spade blade inserts and covers a drilling diameter range of 45/64 inches to 15/16 inches with a maximum drilling depth of 2-3/4 inches. The tool features a straight flute geometry and a 4MT taper shank, making it compatible with standard Morse taper spindles. Through-coolant delivery via 2-radial entry ports controls heat and clears chips effectively during deep or production drilling operations. Installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals in CNC and manual machine environments.
This spade drill body is rated for general-purpose performance across universal workpiece material categories, including steel, stainless, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and hardened materials as indicated by material codes P, M, K, N, S, and H. The short-length body classification suits setups where reduced overhang and improved rigidity are priorities. The 2-radial coolant entry style uses a 1/16-inch NPT coolant hole thread, and the body is compatible with the 2T-3SR rotary coolant adapter for pressurized through-coolant applications.
Compatible with T-A 1 series spade blade inserts. Designed for use with machine spindles accepting a 4MT Morse taper shank. Rotary coolant adapter compatibility confirmed for the 2T-3SR adapter. Suitable for universal workpiece materials including material codes P, M, K, N, S, and H.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist. Ensure the machine spindle is fully powered down and secured before mounting or removing the taper shank tool. Clean the taper bore and shank mating surfaces thoroughly before seating to prevent runout. Verify coolant system pressure and connection fittings match the 1/16-inch NPT thread specification before enabling through-coolant flow.
