The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 20411-0750 is a high-performance indexable spade drill designed for production drilling in metal fabrication and machining operations. It accepts interchangeable spade drill inserts to produce holes ranging from 31/32 inches to 1-3/8 inches in diameter, with a maximum drill depth of 3 inches. The tool runs a straight flute configuration and is built on the Series HP-A platform. The 3/4-inch flatted shank provides secure tool holding in standard drill chucks and toolholders. Machinists and CNC operators in metalworking environments are the primary installers of this tool.
This spade drill body is rated for universal primary workpiece materials, covering steel, cast iron, non-ferrous alloys, and non-metallic materials as indicated by material codes K, M, N, and P. Its short-length classification makes it well suited for general-purpose drilling where rigidity and chip clearance are priorities. The straight flute geometry supports efficient chip evacuation in through-hole and blind-hole applications across a wide range of workpiece types in both job-shop and production environments.
Designed for use with Series HP-A spade drill inserts compatible with the 20411-0750 body. Consult the ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING HP-A series insert selection guide to match insert geometry to workpiece material and required diameter within the 31/32-inch to 1-3/8-inch range.
Installation and tool changes are performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and power is locked out before mounting or removing the drill body or changing inserts. Verify that the flatted shank seats fully and is clamped within the toolholder's rated holding torque range per the machine tool manufacturer's specifications. Do not exceed the maximum drill depth of 3 inches without confirming chip clearance and cycle programming.
