The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 1C52A-25 is a solid carbide spade drill insert designed for high-performance drilling in steel and hard materials. Part of the T-A Series, this insert features a 132-degree point angle and a TiAlN (Titanium Aluminum Nitride) PVD coating that improves wear resistance and heat tolerance at the cutting edge. The insert measures 0.1875 inches thick and seats into a Size 2 holder. Manufactured to C5 (P40) grade carbide, it is suited for aggressive metal removal rates in production drilling environments. Machinists and toolroom technicians install this insert as a replaceable cutting element in compatible T-A Series spade drill bodies.
This insert is intended for drilling steel and hard materials in industrial machining applications. The T-A Series spade drill system is widely used in CNC machining centers, lathes with live tooling, and manual drilling operations where a replaceable insert design reduces tooling cost compared to solid-body drills. Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Before changing the insert, confirm the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool is secured in a vise or tool block. Seat the insert firmly in the holder pocket and tighten the retention screw to the holder manufacturer's specified value using a calibrated torque tool. Inspect the seating pocket for chips or debris before each insert change to prevent misalignment and premature insert failure.
