The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 1C51A-0024 is a solid carbide spade drill insert designed for high-performance drilling in steel and hard materials. Built to T-A Series specifications, this insert measures 3/4 inch in diameter with a 132-degree point angle and seats in a Size 1 holder. The TiAlN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and wear protection during high-speed cutting operations. At 0.1563 inches thick and manufactured to C5 (P40) grade, this insert delivers consistent cutting geometry and tool life in demanding production environments. Installation is performed by machining professionals and tooling technicians.
This insert is suited for drilling steel and hard materials in production machining, job shop, and manufacturing applications. The T-A Series system uses replaceable spade drill inserts mounted in dedicated holders, making it a cost-effective solution for through-hole and blind-hole drilling. The 3/4 inch diameter and Size 1 seat make this insert compatible with corresponding T-A Series holders configured for that seat size. It is used in CNC machining centers, lathes, and drill presses where consistent bore geometry and tool change efficiency are required.
Designed for use with T-A Series Size 1 spade drill holders configured for 3/4 inch diameter inserts. Compatible with primary workpiece materials classified as Steel (P) and Hard Material (H) per ISO material classification.
Insert installation and replacement should be performed by a qualified machining technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before removing or seating the insert in the holder. Use the appropriate torque wrench and insert screw specified by the holder manufacturer to secure the insert — do not overtighten by hand. Inspect the insert seat for chips or debris before seating a new insert to ensure proper contact and cutting geometry.
