The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 1C50T-.515 is a solid carbide spade drill insert designed for high-performance hole-making in steel and hard materials. It features a 132-degree point angle and a titanium nitride (TiN) PVD coating that extends cutting tool life by reducing friction and heat at the cutting edge. At 0.125 inches thick with a 33/64-inch diameter, this insert fits Seat Size 0 T-A series spade drill bodies. It is intended for machine shops and production drilling operations where consistent bore entry and tool life are priorities. The carbide grade is C5 (P40), rated for steel and hard material applications.
This insert is suited for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and production lathes running ferrous workpieces. The T-A series system uses a replaceable insert design, allowing operators to swap cutting edges without replacing the full drill body. Typical applications include structural steel fabrication, general machining of carbon steel, and hard material drilling where insert durability is a key factor in cycle time and cost per hole.
Designed for use with T-A series Seat Size 0 spade drill bodies. Primary workpiece materials are steel and hard materials (material codes P and H).
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Ensure the drill body seat pocket is clean and free of chips before seating the insert. Follow the drill body manufacturer torque specifications for the insert clamping screw using calibrated tooling. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before inserting or removing any cutting tool insert.
